Halloween and a Bit of Pixie Dust

This year for Halloween, Emmy decided that she wanted to be Tinkerbell.  With a little bit of digging on Ebay and our craft box, we came up with this costume.  We picked up the pixie wings at Dollar Tree for a buck and we were done.

I was We were pretty pleased with the results.  Here are a few photos of our little Tinkerbell.

I love how sassy she looks here.  This is her normal persona.

I took an old pair of her flats and painted them green.  A couple of cotton balls hot glued on top and viola!  Tinkerbell shoes!

The had a Halloween party at school this year and because of doctor's appointment, I got to attend.  It was so sweet!

That night at the football game, groups of students set up stands so that kids could trick-or-treat at the game.  I was so proud of our students for giving up some of their night to provide a safe place for children to pick up some candy.

She came home with lots of candy (that she didn't get to eat), but more importantly, she had a magical time!

Halloween 2013

On Halloween Emmy and Abby took the street with their cuteness.  We trick or treated in our neighborhood, and the girls RACKED UP!  Emmy's candy bucket was overflowing plus she got lots of stuff at school and church.  It was crazy, or as my sister says, "It was cray cray!"

We started off with a quick dinner right after school at Mr. Gattis.  These two can put away some pizza.

I put a lot of thought into Emmy's costume this year since it is probably the last year that I will get to pick out her costume.  I saw a post online about someone that dressed their little girl up as Shirley Temple, and my heart started racing, palms sweating, and I KNEW that is what we had to be! I say we because since I had Emmy, she is the only one getting to do have fun and dress up.  I now live vicariously through my two year old...but that's a whole other post. :)

Check out my sweet Shirley Temple.  We practiced for weeks, and she can even sing "The Good Ship Lollipop" now.  Love her!

After trick-or-treating, we went to the party at the church.  There was tons of great food, and they took the kids on a hay ride again.  Such an amazing evening!

They also had a costume parade at school that day, and Emmy rocked some of her Minnie Mouse gear.  Isn't she adorable?
