Thanksgiving 2015

We did two Thanksgiving celebrations this year- one in Cedar Park and one in Milam.

The weekend before THanksgiving, we traveled out to the Austin area to see Bradley's family.  Lincoln loved crawling around on their area rug.  It was a warm day, so we let this guy craw around in just his diaper for a little while.  I think he enjoyed it.

Brad's brother is always happy to see the little people, and they were glad to see him too.

Grandma Susan does such a great job of taking time to do things with the grand babies.  In the midst of getting Thanksgiving dinner ready, she took time to stop and have  a tea party with Emmy.  It's those kinds of moments that my baby girl will treasure forever.

Before we knew it, it was time to eat.  The food was delicious!

These little cuties weren't hard on the eyes either!

Aunt Jessica and Uncle Dan came by to meet Lincoln.  Dan even had a spot of tea with Emmy as well.  When in doubt pinkies out!

The next week, we drove up to my grandmother's house in Milam.  As soon as we got there, Emmy started asking my uncle to take her fishing.  I guess the time payed off.  She caught one of the biggest bass that they've ever caught off the pier in a matter of minutes!  She was on cloud nine and walked around telling everyone about her fish the rest of the weekend.

The next day, we prepared and devoured our Thanksgiving day meal.  It was delicious and so special since I got to see a lot of my relatives that I only see at Christmas.

We went fishing again and Bradley got lucky this time.  He was so lucky that I made him throw all that luck back in the lake for someone else to enjoy!

We left on Saturday and traveled over to see my Uncle Bill in the hospital.  He was not doing well, and my aunt thought that getting to see the babies might cheer him up.  She was pretty excited to meet Lincoln as well.

It was a great holiday, and we enjoyed getting to spend time with so many people that we love and care about.

Thanksgiving 2014 aka 15 Hours in the Car

Emmy and I were a little sick the week of Thanksgiving.  Because of this, we did not get started making our Thanksgiving rounds until the morning of Thanksgiving.  The only bonus was that there was minimal traffic on the road with us.

Once we got to Cedar Park, there were lots of happy faces to see.

And lots of yummy food to eat.

There was a lot of family fun time too!

We didn't forget the most important part.

Emmarie convinced the ladies to have a tea party with her.

After our high tea, game night commenced.  Candyland for the littles and Cards Against Humanity for the bigs.

We stayed the night with grandma, and someone woke up earlier than Daddy and wanted to snuggle.

Emmy's congestion and allergies took a nose dive after all of the excitement and outdoor play, so she slept almost the entire way to East Texas.

Her baby cousins seemed to be just the medicine that little girl needed to perk up!

We enjoyed our time outdoors and soaked up some of the beautiful weather.

All too soon it was time to leave, and we hugged this little lady a little tighter than the rest.

Happy Thanksgiving!  I am so thankful for all of the wonderful family and friends that we have in our lives.  I hope that we are a blessing to them as well.

The Great Turkey Day Migration!

For Thanksgiving Brad I decided to split our time between our two families. We both knew that this was going to be a momentous task since they live so far away, but we thought that we would try it this year. First, we went to Milam, TX. This is approximately 5 hours from our house if anyone was wondering. We arrived close to midnight on Wednesday evening. We spent Thanksgiving Day with my family, and we had a great time. A lot of my cousins were there this year, and we took pictures, played football, ate a lot of really GREAT food. Then Friday morning, I went with April and Michael to my favorite event of the year: BLACK FRIDAY SALES!!!! We divided and conquered, and I ended up buying a lot more stuff than I had previously planned. That's okay though because I am going to give a lot of it away for Christmas. Then after I got back to my grandma's house (we had to drive an hour and a half round trip to get to the nearest stores), we had lunch and got on the road. Next stop, Cedar Park, TX. We planned on staying Friday evening with Brad's grandparents at their house. It took us around 6 hours to get there, and man were we happy to see them! We had only been there an hour or so when it is decided that we need to head down to Burnet, TX to see his brother. That is another hour in the car! We finally made it there, and I was so happy to be out of the car! We hung out with them for a while, and we got to see Brad's mom. Then we took baby Christopher and went back to Cedar Park for the night. Then the next day, we went back to Burnet/Marble Falls to see everyone again. Sunday morning, we hung out at the Foster home and played with Christopher. We were sad when it was time to leave, but we knew that we had another three hours in the car! We finally made it back to EL Campo. I don't think I have ever been so happy to see our house. We had a lot of fun over the holidays, but I think next year we will just pick one place to visit!
