First Day of School

It's that day again folks.  The first day of school.  Suprisingly, I was ready for it this year.  This is not to say that if they had called and said, "Hey we decided that you can take off another three months and we'll keep sending your check" that I would have turned them down.  This is my first year that I wasn't sad and really dreading heading back to work.

I think a lot of it stems from the fact that Emmy and I really had an amazing summer.  We got to do just about everything that we wanted, and we had a great time doing it.

When I was getting the sign ready for the picture below, Emmy asked me what I was writing.  I tried to explain that she was going back to school to see her friends, and her response was but what will you do without me Mommy?  It was the sweetest thing.

Here's my little sometimes angel on her first morning of Pre-K 3.

These two fabulous teachers were excited about their first morning back as well.  Sadly, we didn't have a sign to document the occasion so a quick Instagram photo had to suffice.

Here's to hoping this is our best and most blessed year yet!!

Britt's Housewarming Party

My sister moved into her very own apartment.  It is so cute and the perfect starter place for an amazing single young lady.  To celebrate this milestone, we threw her a party!  A lot of her friends, family, and coworkers showed up to shower her with love and some of the things you need in your first place.  My mom and I of course made sure that there were some tasty treats for them to enjoy.

Thanks so everyone who showed up, and we love you Britt!

Scrapbook Retreat

Every once in a while, Mommy gets to go on an adventure.  All. By. Herself.   This was one of those times. Although many people would not consider going to a bed and breakfast to scrapbook all weekend an adventure, this is my blog, and I get final say on all definitions.

So we packed up and headed out to Palacios, TX for a weekend getaway at the Main Inn Bed and Breakfast.  We do not travel lightly and everyone brings all of their scrapbook stuff.  As  soon as we get to the inn, we unload and organize our mounds of supplies and snacks and start assigning everyone an area of the main cabin for their workspace.

I took a brand new album and photos from Emmy's three birthday parties.  I needed a small task that would not overwhelm me from the start, and this was the perfect task to do just that.

Here are a few of the photos I took while on break.  I only had my iphone, so bear with me.

We had a great time, and I can't wait to go back again. :)
