Jonathan's Getting Married

We traveled to Fort Worth for the weekend for the wedding of our fellow Hart Hall resident Jonathan!

We didn't get to Fort Worth until the wee hours of the morning.  The next day, my first priority was getting this little diva down to the pool area to play for a few hours.  The Radisson had a great heated pool and hot tub area for her to play in, and BONUS there were a few other kids and moms down there at the same time.  Built-in friends!

After her two hour pool session, it was time to get ready and go to the wedding.  The ceremony was held at at beautiful church on the TCU campus.  Unfortunately, they did not allow photography of any kind in the chapel, so I don't have any shots from there.

Below are some of my favorites from the ceremony.  I didn't really keep my camera glued to my hand, so there aren't the normal pleathora.

We lovingly joked that we had made some imaginary cut by being invited.

Emmy latched on to Elisa and followed her around all night.

Of course these two had to work the dance floor a little!

When Dustin started singing "Don't Stop Believing," Emmy rudely covered her ears.

The next day, we met up with Dustin, Christina, and Caroline in Dallas for lunch.

Caroline is just so sweet!

After lunch, we hit the road and started our trek home.

When we got to Waco, we made the executive decision to stop by the Magnolia Farm store.  Unfortunately they weren't open so we couldn't go in, but we did take a couple of photos out front.  We love Fixer Upper!

We stopped on the way home and took photos of Emmy in the bluebonnets as well, but that's a whole other post.

Congratulations Jonathan!  We are so happy for you guys, and we can't wait to see where your story takes you!

Michelle and Kyle Tie The Knot

Kyle and Michelle got married yesterday in Austin at a cute little house on a hill.  This is a super special couple to Brad and I because they were part of our close group of friends at A&M.  In all actuality, Kyle is one of the first people that I met at Hart Hall when I got to Aggieland.  He was this weird kid with crazy dreads and during one of our first conversations, he swears that I called him a druggie.  I do not remember this conversation at all, but it sounds like something I might have thought about him at the time, so I guess anything is possible.  I didn't meet Michelle until later, but I remember thinking that she was one of the smartest girls I knew because she was an AEROSPACE ENGINEER!   Well two wrongs don't make a right, but apparantly two super smart engineers are right for each other because these two complete each other perfectly.

We had a great time at their wedding catching up with old friends, seeing new babies, and getting crazy on the dance floor.  It was a perfect evening.

Congratulations Kyle and Michelle.  If you marriage is a tenth of the fun that your wedding day was, you will be one of the luckiest couples I know.  :)

10 Year High School Reunion

Let me set the scene for you.  It's 2004.  "In da Club" by 50 is blaring on the radio of my best friend's car while we drive around.  As the tag line plays, we all whisper-shout the rest of the line.  We talk about college and our fears about having to move.

Fast forward TEN years...I know.  T-E-N years.  How could I have been out of high school that long?  Instead of this post waxing on about how time flies and other miscellaneous nostalgia, let's veer in another direction.

Our class reunion was held in El Campo the same night as my Dad's 50th birthday party, so we were a little late getting there.

The three musketeers reunited again.

Some of the other people from our close circle were there too.

We hung out and laughed, and we talked about where all our lives had taken us in the past years.  Of course there were some stories that we already knew--thanks Facebook.

All in all, it was a great night with minimal awkwardness.   I think I fared way better than Romy or Michele, so I guess that's a victory.  Thanks for the great night class of 2004.  I'll see you again at our 15 in a few years.  Hopefully I will have some stories to tell that don't revolve around my three year old, but if that's all I have, I guess I'm living a happy life.

Britt's Housewarming Party

My sister moved into her very own apartment.  It is so cute and the perfect starter place for an amazing single young lady.  To celebrate this milestone, we threw her a party!  A lot of her friends, family, and coworkers showed up to shower her with love and some of the things you need in your first place.  My mom and I of course made sure that there were some tasty treats for them to enjoy.

Thanks so everyone who showed up, and we love you Britt!
