Every now and then, I just have to take my little girl outside and take her picture. This was one of those days. Isn't my little Aggie baby just adorable? That is all. :)

10 Year High School Reunion
Let me set the scene for you. It's 2004. "In da Club" by 50 is blaring on the radio of my best friend's car while we drive around. As the tag line plays, we all whisper-shout the rest of the line. We talk about college and our fears about having to move.
Fast forward TEN years...I know. T-E-N years. How could I have been out of high school that long? Instead of this post waxing on about how time flies and other miscellaneous nostalgia, let's veer in another direction.
Our class reunion was held in El Campo the same night as my Dad's 50th birthday party, so we were a little late getting there.
The three musketeers reunited again.
Some of the other people from our close circle were there too.
We hung out and laughed, and we talked about where all our lives had taken us in the past years. Of course there were some stories that we already knew--thanks Facebook.
All in all, it was a great night with minimal awkwardness. I think I fared way better than Romy or Michele, so I guess that's a victory. Thanks for the great night class of 2004. I'll see you again at our 15 in a few years. Hopefully I will have some stories to tell that don't revolve around my three year old, but if that's all I have, I guess I'm living a happy life.

Dad's 50th Birthday
Y'all, my dad turned 50. I know it's crazy. I can still remember when he turned thirty. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we took him to a "Disneyland esque" place for a carnivore--Fogo de Chao.
This photo just about sums up his excitement over the meal we were about to have.
Lots of people came to celebrate with us.
When the guys started circling our table with their skewers of meat, every guy's eyes lit up.
And everyone's smiles were a bit infectious.
We had to have some cake too. Tres Leches is one of his favorites.
I caught him on camera trying to kiss my mom...gross.
At the end of the meal, I of course made some of them take a smattering of photos.
As I told you that night, Happy 50th Birthday Dad. I've enjoyed the parts of the first 50 years that I got to spend with you, but I know the next 50 will be even better. Love you to the moon and back!

Cheer Camp & Game
The local high school put on a cheer camp for the little kids in our town. After the fiasco that dance camp was this summer, I was very hesitant to sign Emmy up. I spoke with the sponsor and she assured me that the little girls would be sectioned off and doing stuff that little girls could do, so I signed her up.
I am so glad that we took the chance because she had so much fun.
Here she is with her group at the end of the mini-camp waiting for their parents.
She probably had such a good time because there were so many girls working the camp that she already knew.
She also had a friend there for moral encouragement.
The next week, she suited up in her camp shirt and headed down to the Friday Night Lights to try out her new found cheer skills. After a short photo session at home...
She was so excited to get to be where all the big girls were on the track.
She never even looked back when one of the moms took her to walk out on the field.
They got to cheer the entire first quarter.
While she may not have wanted to jump in and cheer her heart out in front of everyone, she thought the entire experience was really cool.
This was probably her favorite part. All I heard for the next couple of weeks was, "Pick me up. I'm a cheerleader."
Of course she had her own group of cheerleaders yelling for her at the game too. Nana and Daddy didn't get in the photos, but they were super proud as well.
Way to go Emmy! We are so proud of you for trying new things and being such a big girl. Try not to grow up too quickly.

Emmy's Big Girl Room
My little big girl is moving out of the nursery. We decided that since summer was winding down and I had a few weeks before school started, this would be the perfect time for me to paint our guest room for Emmy. I went with a calming gray color because I knew there would be LOTS of color (pink) in this room. She adores Minnie Mouse, so even though I am not a "theme" person, we went with it. I found her comforter set at Kohls and after some Kohl's cash and coupons, we walked away for about $60.
Enjoy your new room baby girl. Mommy loves you and although it pains me to see you growing up, and I am ready for all of the adventures that await us both as you grow.
