So Bluebonnets are pretty much my favorite season in Texas. What? Bluebonnets are a season? I know, it's a new theory right? Well to me, we don't actually have Spring in Texas. We have winter and a transition week into summer. So thinking along those lines, Bluebonnets can be our in between season. Although the weather is unpredictable in Texas, you can always count on these flowers for a few weeks some time between February and May.
Usually, we drive to College Station or Columbus to find a good patch of Bluebonnets. This year, my cousin, Crystal, found an amazing spot right outside of our little town. She talked to the owner ahead of time, and he gave us the go ahead to shoot away (shoot photos...not guns. Just in case there were any misunderstandings).
This is the first year that Emmarie wasn't instantly repelled by the thought of touching grass or being near the flowers, so I was ecstatic. She had a great time--for the most part--posing and hamming it up for the camera. She is really developing some serious camera personality. I may be a little biased though.
Enjoy the photos. I am really proud of how they turned out this year. No tears=winning.
