Mother's Day

Mother's day this year was a very laid back and enjoyable affair.  Since I was only a little a week out from having Lincoln, we wanted to stay in away from the germy crowds.  The cherry on the top of the day was the fact that my Grannie was still here, so we got to share the day with her.

My dad agreed to bar-b-que, so our main course was taken care of.  Between the rest of us, we managed to come up with the sides, and it was AMAZING.

Bradley and I didn't go to church that morning, but that didn't stop Grannie form attending with Mom.

We drove over before they got out of church to turn the oven on and get the beans going.  Mom had set the table so prettily.

It wasn't long before we were all together and filling our stomach's with all this goodness.

After we were done eating, we headed outside to snap a ton of few pictures.

Four generations of awesomeness in one simple photo.

Emmy was being a little toot during this portion of our day, and she did not want to step out of the limelight long enough for me to get a photo of mom and Grannie.  I simply stepped closer and zoomed in over her head for the next shot.

Don't mind the tired eyes and crazy hair in this one.  The sun flair wasn't doing me any favors.  I had to include this new photo of my newest and smallest angel though.  Posting a photo where you know you don't look good for the sake of someone else--the definition of true love.

I had to have my little diva in there with us too.  If you could see all the outtakes that it took to get us here for this one.

Next everyone wanted their photo with Lincoln, and he was sweet enough to oblige.

Happy Mother's Day to all my readers out there (By all I mean two.  By two I mean Mom and Britt)!  I can't wait to face all of the new challenges and triumphs that being a Mommy to two littles will bring.

Mother's Day 2014

We started off our Mother's Day with a trip to Sunday morning services at our church.  I am so thankful that I have such an amazing church to take Emmy to where she can learn about Jesus.  There she sees strong women that are both amazing mothers and educated ladies.  She sees many examples of what loving families look like.  It was the perfect place to spend our Mother's Day.

True to form, we took a few photos before service.

It was my Sunday to teach the youth class, so after our lesson, I had all of the kids write something about their mom on the chalkboard.  I of course couldn't resist writing my mom a message too.  Pinterest Win!

Since it was Cameron's first Mother's Day, I thought it was only right that he should get to take a photo too.

Of course we also needed a photo with the woman responsible for creating this little gaggle of girls.  My mom is such a great example of how a mother should behave.  She sacrificed a lot of her time and goals for us growing up, and I hope that every day, my sisters and I show her that her sacrifices were worth the effort.

In addition to a few presents, my sisters and I created some new and improved (or not) versions of a couple of my mom's photos of us as kids.  We decided that this should be a summer project where we redo bunches of our childhood photos.  For now, we started with the following two.

SeaWorld

I got an email a few weeks ago about a buy one get one free special SeaWorld was running on their fun passes.  For the special price, a pair of people could get together and purchase a fun pass for about $35 a person.  This was a great deal, and we shared the deal with our church youth group.  Many of the kids chose to participate, so we had big plans for SeaWorld trips this summer.

The only caveat to the deal was that you had to redeem your passes by the third weekend in May.  Hmm...we were almost there, so Mother's Day Weekend it was!

I decided that I would play fast and loose with my sensibilities, and I left my camera at home.  The following post is full of photos from my iPhone, and I am not sorry.  It was nice to just be in the moment with everyone, and not have to worry about my big camera all day.

Our first stop of the day was at the dolphin tank--Bradley's favorite spot in the park.

Apparently it was his lucky day because we had only been there for a few minutes when this happened.

Day. Year. Life Made.  But seriously, this is his screen saver at work.  I kid you not.

We let the girls run through the Bay of Play to cool off a bit.

The Azul show is probably my favorite show at SeaWorld.  We have also taken Emmy to it every year since she was born.  Cool Stuff.

After a few rides in the kid area, it was almost time to go home.

Some of us were going home in style.

One quick character meet and greet before we headed out the door.

The only problem with the car ride home is trying to decide how you will fill all of the glorious silence.

Can't wait for more fun trips this summer!
